I received a Bachelors of Science degree in Sociology from the University of LaVerne followed by a Masters of Science degree in Marriage, Family & Child Therapy also from the University of LaVerne. Aside from formal education, I continue to learn and enhance my professional skills through parenting groups, social-skills building groups, and other professional development courses. My work experience originated working in a diverse population in Greater Los Angeles. Such experiences have allowed me to provide individual counseling for children, adolescents, and adults. In addition to providing individual counseling services, family therapy and group therapy have also been facilitated to assist client's in promoting & supporting personal growth while achieving desired goals.
I have been trained in evidenced based treatment models of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) , Seeking Safety and Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). TF-CBT is a conjoint child & parent psychotherapy approach for children/adolescents who are experiencing significant emotional and behavioral difficulties related to traumatic or life changing events. Seeking Safety is a present-focused treatment for clients with a history of trauma and substance use where coping skills and psycho-education are used within the flexible model. Lastly, CPP is an intervention that focuses on repairing relationships with traumatized children ages birth through 5 and their parents/caregivers.
